Angleton pool dropping water? Let's find out exactly where.

Angleton is the Brazoria County seat, home to the county courthouse downtown and the Brazoria County Fairgrounds on the city's edge where the county fair runs every year. State Highway 288 connects the city north to Houston, and that corridor has pulled newer master-planned residential development out from Angleton's older core over the last decade or two, which means we see a wider range of pool ages here than in some of our other cities: gunite shells from the 60s through 80s near downtown, next to fiberglass and vinyl builds in newer subdivisions closer to 288.

Angleton sits further from the coast than Freeport or Woodshore in Clute, so direct salt air is less of a factor here. The clay underneath is the same Beaumont formation found across the rest of Brazoria County, and that ground movement, not coastal exposure, is what drives most of the leaks we diagnose in this city.

2. Pressure test each line

   Each plumbing run gets isolated and pressurized separately, whether it's decades-old downtown plumbing or a newer line under a 288-corridor subdivision.

3. Dye test the shell

   Skimmer throats, light niches, steps, and visible cracks get dye tested with the pump off, confirming exactly where the shell is losing water.

4. Written report same day

   Marked photos, the confirmed point of loss, and a flat-rate repair number before any repair talk starts.

What makes leaks in Angleton harder to pin down

• Wide range of pool ages. A gunite shell from 1975 near downtown and a fiberglass shell from 2018 off Highway 288 fail in different ways, and we adjust the diagnostic approach for the construction type before we start.
• Original plumbing on older downtown lots. Decades of clay movement have had more time to work on unions and fittings installed before the 1990s.
• Newer construction settling. Recently built subdivisions along the 288 corridor sometimes still have fill soil settling under decking and equipment pads, which can stress plumbing connections that a fully settled older lot wouldn't.
• Root intrusion on established downtown lots with mature trees, cracking buried fittings gradually rather than all at once.
• Unpermitted equipment pad moves on older properties, where a pad relocated without a diagram means the actual pipe route can surprise even a longtime owner.
