A gunite shell built in 1971 or a PVC union re-plumbed in 2003 does not move with it evenly. Somewhere a joint separates, a shell hairlines, a skimmer throat pulls from its bond beam. None of that means every water loss is a leak. Evaporation alone can run a quarter inch a day in a Gulf Coast summer, more with wind or a spa spillover running.    Bucket test, if you haven't run one

   A real number for water loss over 24 hours, so we're not guessing whether it's a leak or plain evaporation before we even open the truck.

   Pressure test every line

   Each plumbing run gets isolated and pressurized on its own. A line that won't hold pressure tells us which direction to keep looking.

   Dye test the suspects

   Skimmer throats, shell cracks, light niches, and fittings get dye tested with the pump off, so the dye moves toward the leak instead of getting pulled away by circulation.

   Written report before repair talk

   Marked photos, the confirmed point of loss, and a flat-rate number, handed to you before anyone asks you to book anything.
